Delicious Mozzarella-Stuffed Turkey Meatballs

  • 1 lb. ground turkey lean preferred
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs fresh if possible
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese for flavor
  • 1 large egg acts as a binder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced for depth of flavor
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning for flavor profile
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup marinara sauce store-bought or homemade

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, Italian seasoning, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into balls with a cube of mozzarella in the center.
  4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20 minutes.
  5. Warm marinara sauce and serve over meatballs, optionally with extra Parmesan.

Notes

Great for make-ahead meals and can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
