  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • ¾ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic butter, melted for brushing
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. Use a whisk to blend them thoroughly.
  3. Stir in the shredded Cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Add buttermilk and melted butter into the dry mixture and fold gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times until it comes together.
  6. Cut the dough into long strips, about 1 inch wide, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with melted garlic butter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, and reheat leftovers in a toaster oven for a delightful crunch.
