Easy No-Bake Muddy Buddies

The classic Muddy Buddies recipe combines cereal, chocolate, and peanut butter for a delightful holiday treat.

  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

Method
 

  1. Gather your ingredients and set up a large mixing bowl and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Stir frequently until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a large bowl, combine Rice Chex cereal and the chocolate-peanut butter mixture, gently folding until coated.
  5. Transfer to a resealable bag or bowl, add powdered sugar, seal, and shake until coated.
  6. Spread onto the parchment-lined baking sheet to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  7. Serve in festive bowls or package for gifts.

Notes

Allow cooling completely for the chocolate to set properly.
