Ingredients

Group: Biscuit Dough
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (preferably flaky layer)
Group: Cheeses
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (fresh is best)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
Group: Flavor Components
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Group: Garnish
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, if desired)

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Medium bowl

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) for an even bake and golden-brown finish.
  2. Open the refrigerated biscuit dough and separate each biscuit on a clean surface.
  3. Flatten each biscuit slightly, place mozzarella cheese in the center, fold the edges over and pinch to seal.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Dip each sealed cheese ball into the garlic Parmesan mixture and place seam side down on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, with a slight jiggle indicating melty cheese inside.
  7. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

The secret to a gooey center is in the quality of the cheese used; fresh mozzarella elevates the dish.
