Ingredients

Group: For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon, skin on about 6 ounces each
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Group: For the Marinade
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Medium bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour marinade over the fish. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Remove salmon from marinade and place skin-side down on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until flaky, brushing with reserved marinade halfway through.
  5. During the last few minutes, brush reserved marinade over salmon and broil if desired for caramelization.
  6. Remove from oven, let rest, and garnish with parsley. Serve with vegetables or salad.

Notes

For the best flavor, allow marinating for at least 30 minutes, or up to a few hours for deeper flavor.
