Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 4 fillets salmon, preferably skin-on
  • 1 orange, juice and zest
  • 1 lemon, juice and zest
  • 1 lime, juice and zest
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Tongs

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the orange, lemon, and lime juice and zest. Add in the olive oil, honey, minced garlic, salt, and pepper, whisking until well combined.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat your grill over medium-high heat, ensuring the grates are clean for smooth cooking.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade and let excess drip off. Place skin-side down on grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes, then flip and grill for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. The salmon is done when it flakes easily and the center has a slight jiggle. An internal temperature of 145°F is ideal.
  6. Remove from grill, let rest for a couple of minutes, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Marination is essential for maximizing flavor. Avoid overcrowding the grill for even cooking.
